Real-world robotics testing at scale

Test autonomous systems in extreme, real-world terrain

Aberystwyth Natural Terrain for Unconstrained Robotics (ANTUR) is one of the UK’s most extensive and challenging outdoor robotics testing environments. ANTUR helps organisations to test autonomous robots, sensors, and communications systems at scale in demanding and varied upland terrain — supported by the academic expertise and specialist facilities at Aberystwyth University.

When indoor labs, simulations, or small test sites are no longer enough, ANTUR provides the real-world conditions necessary to assess performance, robustness, and autonomy.

Aberystwyth Natural Terrain for Unconstrained Robotics (ANTUR) is a leading UK outdoor robotics testing facility, offering 500 hectares of challenging upland terrain in mid-Wales for the real-world evaluation of autonomous systems, off-road robotics, sensors, and communications technologies. Designed to bridge the gap between simulation and deployment, ANTUR enables robust field testing, long-range trials, and environmental validation for robotics, agri-tech, defence, and environmental monitoring applications. Supported by world-class research at Aberystwyth University, we help organisations design, test, and refine systems in complex, unpredictable conditions.
